Twelve months almost to the day, Swindon company Emnico Technologies has celebrated its first year of successful trading.

The company has received numerous awards and accreditations for innovation and what was started from scratch now has 19 employees.

Emnico provides software development services and its own IT tools. With a substantial development and maintenance contract already secured and a number of orders being worked on, including some from Europe, the team hit the ground running.

The founding managing director is Heydar Faramarzi, who set out to support the local economy by creating jobs and develop a successful and profitable business.

He is well known in Swindon and his daughter Emma, who has her own business too, is the director at Datalibrium and also the chairman of the Swindon branch of the Federation of Small Businesses.

Keeping it in the family Dad is the vice chair of the Swindon FSB.

Heydar and his team are determined to continue to drive the business forward and be more successful despite what the credit crunch might do.

"We need companies of a like mind and which offer similar services to work together for the benefit for us all," said Heydar.

"It is going to be tough this year but we will get through it stronger."

What makes Emnico more remarkable is that each employee has invested in the business and hold shares, creating a real sense of ownership and pride in their work.

Darren Beggan, business technology sales manager, said the view is refreshingly positive, despite the current climate.

"We are no different to any other company as we look to negotiate what are difficult times. We have seen an increase in the number of enquiries for software projects and IT which brings it to life.

"Businesses are increasingly demanding to get the maximum out of their technology and rightly so. 2009 will be a period of consolidation for Emnico and we will emerge on a sound financial footing."

Emnico Technologies is a Microsoft Certified Partner and Microsoft Small Business Specialist.
