Creative arts week at Swindon's University of Bath

A free confidence boosting and informative Creative arts & advice week is running next week at the University of Bath's Oakfield Campus in Swindon.

The five-day workshop is open to all adult learners interested in entering further or higher education. Participants will be given information, advice and guidance and encouraged to explore their creativity with a range of art projects in a university setting, aimed at boosting their confidence allowing them to make life and career changes.

The morning sessions, lead by University of Bath staff and advisors, will focus on information, advice and guidance, including interview and presentation skills, university applications and more.

"This is a unique opportunity for adults who are wishing to make life changes and are considering returning to education, but who lack the confidence to do so," said Pauline Pratt, creative director.

Participation is free, as are art materials and lunch. Transport costs may also be covered in exceptional circumstances.

Activities run from 9am to 2.45pm. The workshop is open to over 18s only, no qualifications or artistic abilities are required. For more information, call Anne Olesen on 01793 328800 or email caw@bath.ac.uk. Application forms are available from the website.

This workshop has been organised by the University's broadening participation team.
