Marriott Hotel general manager Joanne Stagg going batty up a tree
Employees in hotels can be regarded as creatures of the night because, after all, they have to work some unusual hours.
So, to help out their fellow workers, who come out when the sun has gone down, staff at the Marriott Hotel, in Swindon have spent time building bat boxes and putting them up in the grounds of the hotel.
"As it was World Earth Day we decided to do something for the environment," said Joanne Stagg, the general manager of the hotel.
"Bats are a protected species but some of them are under threat so we decided to put up more boxes to make their living a little easier.
"We'll be keeping an eye on them and hope that our work has been successful."
