Bristol Batteries, one of the South-West’s most well-established family businesses with a branch in Swindon, has got off to a great start in 2011 with the announcement that it has increased profits by 7.6 per cent year on year.

The latest results are further demonstration of the fast growth that the company has experienced in the last five years in which period turnover has doubled.

Run by husband and wife team Jacqualine and Graham Bultitude, Bristol Batteries source batteries, including all the leading brands for use in cars, trucks, caravans, boats, golf caddies, lighting, telecoms and IT backup.

The company’s growth resulted in the business moving to larger premises, incorporating office and warehousing space, in the middle of last year, cementing its position as the top battery provider in the South West.

Today the company has branches in Swindon, Exeter, Plymouth and Truro, which serve around 5,000 commercial clients between them.

Graham Bultitude said: “We are delighted with our half year results, particularly against the backcloth of the harsh and unpredictable economic climate."
