Swindon-based start-up icomplete.com is through to the wildcard stage of The Pitch 2009, a national small business competition, If it is successful it could win £50,000 of business support services.
icomplete.com, based in Old Town, is competing against small business owners from around the UK, and is hoping to get enough public support to go through to The Pitch final in November, where staff will have to present their business idea to a panel of judges, including former TV Dragon Doug Richard. icomplete.com uses the latest Web 2.0 and Cloud Computing technologies to bring big business tools to small businesses, which have previously been unavailable to have them due to price, commitment or experience.
The service combines business applications like CRM, online calendaring, task management, email and accountancy, along with telecommunication services.
This summer, The Pitch 2009, organised by SME advice website BusinessZone.co.uk, has seen competition in UK regional heats.
Entrants had to pitch their business ideas to panels of successful local entrepreneurs and investors who then selected the winners to go through to the final in November.
The public gets to choose now, by voting online, which wildcard entry will go through to the final in London. Stuart Hibbert, the founder of icomplete.com said, “We’re having a terrific year at icomplete. We’re working hard to provide business solutions for small businesses and so far we are being rewarded for our efforts. “We’d love to get through to the finals of this competition. It means a lot for us, but it would also be great for our region to have a start -up representing the south west.
“If you have time, please vote for us at www.businesszone.co.uk/ pitch-2009.”
Judge Doug Richard said: “This is an exciting time in The Pitch 2009 competition. Events like this that bring a focus on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and offer help and advice are important.
“Small businesses are fundamental to our economic recovery, and the more help we can provide, the better.
“It will be interesting to see which entrant is rated highest by the public.”
