Last year Claire Marshall bought a franchise to set up Women in Business Network in the south west with a view to promoting her accounts and tax management business in a non-competitive environment with like-minded businesswomen.

She now runs two WIBN groups in the region, one in Swindon and the other in Cirencester and plans are under way to launch another three groups by the end of 2009.

Each WIBN group has a maximum of 25 members who meet once a month to network and establish working/business relationships to promote their business growth.

Claire, who previously worked as a finance director of an international software company, realised that all the practical experience she had gained from her various FD roles in a number of industries could be put to far better use by helping small businesses to grow without high accounting costs.

Networking is the most cost effective way to create new business interest and so the tie up between the two companies seemed ideal.
