Mark is elected president of valuers

Mark Webb, a partner in WebbPaton based at Wootton Bassett, has been elected president of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

At 47 Mark is believed to be the youngest ever president and only the seventh member of the Gloucestershire and District Association to hold this post.

Mark, pictured right with George Paton who he set up the business with in 1999, grew up on his parents’ dairy and beef farm at Cricklade and has been an agricultural valuer in North Wiltshire since 1985.

He is senior partner of Wootton Bassett based rural valuers WebbPaton, which in 2009 also celebrates the 10th anniversary of its formation.

WebbPaton deal with a wide range of agricultural and development property matters for landowners, farmers, local authorities and agricultural lenders. Mark is also Director of WebbPaton XS, which collects waste plastic for recycling from 2,500 farmers across England.

The CAAV represents, briefs and qualifies its land agent members who advise and act on the very varied matters affecting rural and agricultural businesses and property throughout England and Wales.

Instructed by a wide range of clients, including farmers, owners, lenders, public authorities, conservation bodies and others, this work requires an understanding of practical issues.

The CAAV celebrates its centenary in June 2010.
