The Bank of New York Mellon, a global leader in asset management and securities servicing, has signed a five-year lease for 2,105 sq m (22,661 sq ft) at Signal Point, Station Road, Swindon.
The bank has taken four of the 11 floors at the building, pictured.
The company – which this year celebrates its 225th anniversary and has its head office at One Wall Street, New York – has had an office in Swindon for over five years.
The Bank of New York Mellon has 12 offices across the UK, with its European headquarters based in London.
Ray Pepper, MD UK Transfer Agency at the Bank of New York Mellon, said: “Swindon is an important location within our UK regional network as it has a strong pool of talent for fund administration services - that is a compelling proposition to a company like ours where the recruitment and retention of talent is a key driver of our ongoing success.”
James Preece, office specialist at Colliers CRE in Bristol, said: “This deal shows confidence in Swindon by a leading global provider of securities services to financial institutions and pension funds.”
Joint agents Colliers CRE and Loveday and Loveday have a further 5,058 sq m (54,443 sq ft) of space in the twelve storey building, which overlooks the main London to Bristol railway line.
BNY Mellon is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is today the fifth largest listed bank in the United States by market capitalisation.
The company is one of the strongest institutions globally despite wider market challenges, with the best credit ratings (Moody's Aa2, S&P AA-) of all the major US banks.
