Frozen food firm up for two awards
TROWBRIDGE frozen foods producer apetito has been shortlisted for two business award categories.
apetito has been named in the National Business Awards Wales and West Country regional finals for both the Corporate Social Responsibility Award and the Business Innovation of The Year Award.
The nominations recognise the commitment of the company to reducing its impact on the environment.
The firm has increased recycling by 20 per cent in 2007 to 438 tonnes a year and cut exhaust pollution from vans by investing in a cleaner, greener fleet.
The company was nominated for the second category because it has donated more than £34,000 to charities and community schemes in the last two years.
The nomination for the Business Innovation of The Year Award recognises the development of the apetito Chefmobil, a mobile meals delivery van that apetito uses to deliver meals to people in the community.
The Chefmobil uses three onboard ovens to ensure customers receive piping hot meals.
apetito will find out whether it has won the regional awards at a presentation ceremony and gala on July 22.
