DESPITE the wintry weather, it is great that people are still very active in Swindon, getting involved in plenty of seasonal activities.
Switching the Christmas lights on, both in the town centre and Swindon Designer Outlet, attracted large crowds, creating an atmosphere that was described as "electric".
National Enterprise Week, last month, was equally well supported.
Swindon took part by celebrating its strong culture of enterprise through a range of events held by businesses, schools and the University.
Last month also saw the launch event of the Swindon Strategic Economic Partnership (SSEP), with a theme of 'Driving Swindon Forward'.
More than 120 representatives from key businesses and the public sector attended the occasion, which presented a range of projects already in action and invited people to give their ideas on what the partnership should achieve in the next 12 months.

Representatives from all sectors of business attended, including many of the major employers, as well as those from smaller local businesses.
The break-out sessions run by University West of England (UWE), the Science Museum and Swindon Marketing Group all generated positive feedback.
UWE has started its consultation process with Swindon businesses about their specific needs and the Science Museum's inspired project is still very much alive, despite the setback from the Big Lottery Fund.
The Swindon Marketing Group ran an inspiring interactive session on how a successful Swindon brand might look or feel to businesses.
During the event, the finalists of the Swindon Business Start-Up Competition were announced.
Run by Business Link and Swindon Borough Council, the competition offered three prizes to exciting and innovative new business in the town.
All of the finalists have established successful start-up businesses in the last 12 months, and demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial spirit.
The winner, Swin City, a comic book shop, received a package of support, with a first prize of £3,000, plus free membership of the new Swindon Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses.
The other two finalists were the Big Adventure Ltd, an outdoor pursuits company, and the Craftbox.
